What Are Lab Grown Diamonds?
Lab-created diamonds (which have also been referred to as lab-grown diamonds, synthetic diamonds, artificial diamonds, cultivated diamonds or cultured diamonds) are man made diamonds that mirror natural diamonds. Because they actually consist of carbon atom structures, lab-grown diamonds display the same chemical and optical characteristics of a natural diamond crystal produced by the geological processes of Mother Nature.

How Are Lab Grown Diamonds Certified And Graded?
All lab grown diamonds are sent to a gem lab that specializes in grading diamonds. The majority of these labs grade using the 4c’s (cut, clarity, color, and carat — more on those later), however, a select few use their own criteria.

The diamond grading process is roughly the same for all of the diamond certification labs. Each diamond is graded independently by several gemologists at the lab. The individual grades are compiled and analyzed to determine the final grade.

We met Sayed at a Gem and Jewelry Show in Virginia right before the Pandemic. My boyfriend and I had been searching for a “commitment” band for me, something delicate, beautiful but not showy. We found exactly what we were looking for at Sayed’s booth. He did not have the ring in 18K white gold however, so we arranged to have it custom made. With the Pandemic shutdowns, the process was slow, but Sayed kept us posted and assured us that our order would be completed as soon as possible. Several weeks ago we received the ring and couldn’t be happier. The workmanship is superb. The fit is great, which we were worried about given the small size needed.
